Definitely a sobering reminder of the terrible food we eat every time we go out to dinner.

Thanks for the article and the MSN link... both excellent reads.

Nice tips...seriously, low fat generally means high in calories these days. The only way they keep the fat down and the taste up is to add heaps of sugar...beware! and smoothies...a calorie goldmine, if thats what you are after! cheers.

I’m actually aware of the G.I. and the effects on blood sugar. What frustrates me are the foods on a “don’t eat” list by one expert contradict the foods on the “do eat” list by another expert. You’ve got us running through a hazy maze like lab rats. =.=

That's interesting, I went to pubmed.com and found an article that stated,

"Caralluma extract appears to suppress appetite, and reduce waist circumference when compared to placebo over a 2 month period."

But thanks for your comment -- I sure do appreciate you leaving a message so I could check.

You are wrong about Caralluma fimbriata. The only published study reported NO significant weight loss effect. Where did you get your information?

If you don't believe me, search for caralluma fimbriata at pubmed.com, then check out the article in the peer-reviewed journal named Appetite.

I can't seem to shake sugar. I look at labels and I see it everywhere. There is too much of it and I need ideas to get rid of it. Maybe I'll check out one of the books for tips. Thanks for this post and information.

Oh wow, I knew fast food wasn't good but I didn't realize exactly how bad it was. And you're right, when I order a burger I order fries too. I looked up on the chart what I usually order and it was bad - way too many calories and salt!

Those face exercises look interesting, I may have to give them a try! My mom, who is fifty-four, recently lost a whole bunch of weight on a mediacally supervised diet. She's always looked young for her age, but as soon as the pounds came off the wrinkles appeared...For me, this brought home the importance of "good fats" in the diet, like avocados and almonds. She is getting virtually no fat on her diet, and I can see it in her skin - it's duller, drier, etc.
