If you are smart – you will start slowly when adding weights to your walking-workout. These are a GREAT addition to your exercise-walk. Highly recommended.

Best to start off with just the Heavy-hands with no weights, then add the weights after a few weeks – not approaching this slowly could set you up for an injury. It really does raise the level of intensity to your walking workout.

These Mutli-pack contains a pair of black handles and eight screw on weights 4 to form a pair of 2 pound heavy hands weights and 4 to form 2- 3 pound heavy hands weights. Lion Sports Inc. that makes these is responsible in part for the resurgence of the Ultimate exercise system developed in this planet and in anyone’s lifetime. Heavy hands developed by Dr. Len Schwartz in the 1980’s and who is in now in his eighties is part of a larger system called Panaerobics. The weights enable the hands to work in conjunction with the legs to achieve combined aerobic and strength training benefits.

Don’t ever think that these hand weights were meant to be just that…ordinary hand weights. It is a tool par excellence that Kate Buffet of LionSports Inc. had enough good sense to reissue. Now people discovering the heavy hands system can buy the weights that are so essential to the system. The Handles can be fitted with various poundages of weight ends since it is a screw type hand weight. That means one can vary the intensity of the workout resulting in more benefits. This multipac is worth more than the purchase price. Please refer to my review of The Heavy Hands walking Book by Leonard Schwartz for a more detailed coverage of the subject matter. May i suggest that you buy the book along with the WalkPlus Video so that you can grasp the fundamentals of this superior system that is a precursor of TurboJam, the FIRM ( which in their 2008 workouts have a handweight system similar to the original Heavyhands except for the chrome plated endweights) many combined aerobic/anerobic utlilizing hand weights or weighted gloves. This is a bargain buy…buy

Good weights for ladies or re-hab person, This are good for staying in shape or to firm up with. Grips are good cause you can slip your hand into them and they have a backside that allows you to work out even if you can’t use your fingers well to grip weights .If your looking for bigger weights to workout with, these are limtied to addd to.
