Weight Loss Motivation

The moment you decide to lose weight, you probably felt a buzz of excitement. However, weight loss motivation doesn’t seem to last long. Your vision of a slim, sexy body starts to fade.

Exercise? It starts being a chore. Drive-thru’s start calling your name. The rocky road to losing weight goes on and on.

Next question: how do you stay on track? How about some weight loss motivation?

You Gotta Have a Goal

You probably already know, but just wanting to lose weight isn’t enough.  You need to get personal:  how much weight do you want to lose,?  And when do you want to lose it by? For example, saying, “I plan to lose 30 pounds in six months” gives you something more tangible (so to speak).

Writing down your goals is important.  And did you know that people who blog about their dieting goals have a better chance to lose the weight?

Track Your Progress

You have a goal — now you have to track your progress.  Once a week (preferably at the same time each week), weight yourself and take measurements.

You will have ups and downs — most weeks you lose, some weeks you may stay the same or even seem to gain a pound or two.  Write it all down!  You need to see the big picture, and the only way you will is to have a record of your fat loss.

Photo-Motivation — “Before” and “After” Shots

As much as you may hate to get in front of a camera lens, have your picture taken.  And take some more while you lose the weight.  You will be thankful later, and even while you’re losing — the photos are motivation when you start seeing a real difference!

More Motivation to Lose Weight

Do reward yourself — just not with food!  Maybe for every 5 pounds treat yourself to something, even if it’s something as simple as a new book.  And then for the bigger goals, do something a little more — maybe a manicure or pedicure (or both).   A new piece of clothes in your new size.  What do you really want?

No, losing weight isn’t easy — if it was, we’d all be thin.  But you can make a difference every day, just by sticking to your new eating plan.

And Even More Weight Loss Motivation!

Here are some of the top-rated books on Amazon for dieting motivation (most are also available in Kindle format), if you’s like just a little more motivation.  To your success!
