		<description>I have a couple of friends who did that master cleanse thing. I told them they were crazy for it, but apparently they claimed that it made them feel pretty good. The results were very dramatic, but unfortunately for them, it didn&#039;t last.

If you read the article about the master cleanse on wikipedia, there&#039;s some very conflicting opinions about the purported benefits of that master cleanse thing.

Slow and steady wins the race, just like with the tortoise and the hare.

Gradual weight loss--calories burned vs calories consumed--with healthy foods and exercise is the only thing that has ever worked for me.  Any fad diets I tried were so restrictive, I always ended up cheating.  Slow and steady is the healthiest way to long term fitness.

I find I actually lose weight quicker when I actually eat!  I don&#039;t mean eating in abundance, but consuming about 1,200 calories per day has worked. I am losing about 1.5 pounds per week -- slow, but healthy.
