It’s Monday — Did Your Diet Survive the Weekend?
Monday morning always seems to be the "today I’ll stick to my diet"
day. Much of it probably stems from how badly we did over the
weekend. Did your diet survive this past weekend?
Friday nights are for socializing — dinner, drinks, parties and
such. Saturdays are hectic — running around getting things done; fast
food fits into the schedule. Sunday for many means a family meal,
complete with all kinds of foods not exactly conducive for a diet.
What’s a girl to do?
It may not be easy, but at the very least we can make better
choices. Eating half of what’s on your plate at dinner. Stopping
after one drink, then sipping on water or diet soda. Passing up the
high-calorie, high salt snacks.
When you’re running around on Saturday, have some healthy food
choices available. Most fast food places offer salads these days –
just watch the dressing. Bring along a piece of fruit for a snack, or
a high-protein bar.
As for that Sunday meal…well, if you can’t manage to add some
low-calorie foods to the dinner, eat smaller portions of what you do
have.
Weekends don’t need to be a dieter’s downfall. And even if you do
overindulge at one meal, cut back some afterwards. Just don’t skip
meals — that won’t help you in your ultimate goal — to lose weight.
