3 Day Diet — Fact or Fiction?

Is a 3 day diet fiction…or is it a fact?  Can you really lose weight on a 3 day diet — or it is just water weight and easily gained back?

Let’s find out.

First — the Water Weight

Yes, three day diets do indeed help you to drop water weight, if you follow them properly.  And as far as the scales go, that’s all you’ve dropped.  In just three days, you wouldn’t have taken in 3,500 calories less, which is what it takes to lose a pound of weight.

However, when it comes to water weight…it is weight you don’t need to be carrying around!  So the scales are moving in the right direction, and there are fewer pounds on your body.

Just keep drinking water to lose weight and that water weight will stay off your body.

Body Boost

The other way a 3 days diet can work is by giving your body a shakeup, once you’ve reached a dieting plateau.  Here’s how it works.

You’ve been losing weight steadily and then all the sudden — the weight loss stops.  First one week, then two and then by week three or four, you’re getting mighty frustrated.

a 3 day diet can help your body get out of its comfort zone and helps to kick-start your metabolism again.  While the three day diet itself may not  drop any weight, your body can rev up again and start losing on your sensible diet.

So, 3 day diets do have a use, and they are not all fads.  While not weight loss diets you’d want to stay on for long, they can help you jump-start (or re-start) your real weight loss.
